Thoemus Bikes Seatposts

Thomas Binggeli, a 50-year-old Swiss bicycle entrepreneur, hails from Oberried in the canton of Bern, not far from Bern. “Thömu” once set up his first bike shop in the barn on his parents’ farm—Margrit and Fritz. The story in a nutshell: He sold the sheep while his parents were away on vacation and opened a bike shop in the barn. He founded a racing team, which from then on competed primarily in red. In 1998, the Bern native launched his own brand, “Thömus, taking the next step from retailer to bicycle developer. Carbon Mountain bikes would become his core product. The bicycle industry reacted with disbelief but increasingly paid tribute to the man from Oberried: “From brilliant amateur to market-influencing innovator,” as it would later be described.
