Frequently Asked Questions

My seatpost is difficult to lower

The Eightpins seatpost needs a shot of oil every now and then. There is a reservoir in the outer sleeve that needs to be refilled regularly. Please only use Eightpins oil. Oil Fluid V4Other oils can draw dirt into the system and damage the seatpost!

If you have been riding without lubrication for a long time, be sure to remove the seatpost and clean or replace the Bushing and scraper.

What warranty do you get?

We provide a statutory warranty of 24 months from the date of purchase on all Eightpins seatposts, which must be proven by a proof of purchase.

The warranty is limited to repair or replacement.

Normal wear and tear, routine maintenance, and improper installation or use of the seatpost are excluded from the warranty.

All moving parts of the mechanism and the gas spring are wear parts and are not covered by the warranty.

The warranty claim requires that the product be used as intended.

Please note: Any modifications to the seatpost will void the warranty. The user bears the risk for personal injury or property damage, including damage to the seatpost and any other damage resulting from modification or improper use of the seatpost.

The assertion of warranty rights requires that all information regarding assembly, handling, and maintenance in the operating instructions has been complied with. The product must not have been modified or used in combination with incompatible parts or non-original Eightpins replacement or wear parts.

My seatpost is wobbly, what can I do?

First, we need to clarify what kind of wobbling we are talking about.

The seatpost rotates 2-3° to the left and right:

The post pin axle is probably loose or needs to be readjusted. Please read here how to adjust and tighten the post pin correctly: Postpin instructions

If it is tight, the brass guides may have become loose.

2. The seatpost wobbles forward and backward:

The sliding bushing guide will always have easy play, otherwise the seatpost cannot move.

If there is too much play, it may be that the manufacturing tolerances of the seat tube's inner diameter are too large and the bottom bracket has play in the frame. This is more of a cosmetic problem than a technical one, as the distance between the bearings on Eightpins is large enough to prevent tilting.

To resolve the issue anyway, read the next FAQ point.

3. For any other anomaly, please contact our service department.

Service - H01 seatpost

The Eightpins seatpost has the advantage that the seatpost tube can be removed and installed very quickly and the bushing can be cleaned or replaced quickly. If the sliding properties deteriorate, the seatpost can be quickly relubricated via a grease nipple in the outer sleeve. Minor tasks such as cleaning and lubricating the bushings and replacing the cable pull can be carried out yourself by following the instructions. This requires technical knowledge and the right tools.

The following activities must be carried out regularly:
